Types of fish caught:
We catch Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin, Marlin, Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, Amberjack, etc. Wahoo and Tuna are available throughout the year, while Dolphin and Marlin show up during May through August.
Fishing techniques and equipment:
The equipment we use at Osprey Charters is state of the art and best amongst industry standards. We use the Shimano, Tiagra, and Cape Fear rods for catching the big varieties of fish. Fish species such as Yellowfin Tuna can weigh as much as 200 pounds, and to facilitate an easy catch, this equipment is very useful. This equipment facilitates a smooth drag factor and great power lifts. We use Shimano reels such as Tiagras, Torsa, Stella, Takota and spheros, as well as Cape fear , Shimano , G loomis and calstar rods and Krystal electric reels.
Services offered:
We offer our customers full-day trips which take you around the waters of Venice, Louisiana for the most exceptional fishing adventures. These waters are dotted with numerous oil rigs, which provide plenty of scope for massive catches of fish!
Our boats:
We run a 32 foot Twin Vee Catamaran, which is powered by Twin 250 HP Evinrude E-tecs, and a 36 foot Yellowfin powered by triple 350 Yamahas. They are both equipped with the latest safety gear and all the fishing equipment needed. Our customers need to bring food and drinks along when they come for the charter fishing trip. In addition, they should bring along raingear, sunglasses, and coolers to take the fish home, sunscreen, and other necessary supplies. We provide all the fishing gear and equipment. Our captain James Peters encourages you to try your hand at catching the big fish!
